Anti-Tamper Directional Return Valve
The 4th generation anti-misoperation directional return water valve (H-Valve) was developed to address issues found in H-valves on the market, such as the check valve being sucked open by differential pressure, which leads to unintended hot water heater activation, "ghost" operation, and water cross-flow (mixing). Additionally, this new generation eliminates the flow-restricting devices (such as flow control valve cores and flow restrictor rings) that were required in previous generations of H-valves to prevent the check valve from being sucked open.
During development, it was noted that certain patents (e.g., from Midea) restricted usage by other customers. After technical discussions with WH, a decision was made to develop a new H-valve. Analysis of field complaints revealed that water cross-flow (mixing) accounted for a high percentage of failures. As a result, the technical direction was set to solve the cross-flow problem while maintaining the same performance as previous versions, with the added feature of misoperation prevention. Following simulation validation and design confirmation, the product was named the 4th Generation Anti-Misoperation Directional Return Water Valve (H-Valve).
